![]() Is it the best series I have ever read? No, not even close. It’s a simple story with a nice conclusion and a spin-off that provides closure for some minor characters from the main storyline. Overall, this series (although unfinished by me), is just ok. I was glad to see the characters chosen for this spin off as they were some of my favorites from the original two books. The only thing that filled the strange void of losing her was finding Carmen, his hot coworker, and discovering a way to get back home. But as soon as they found the rest of the survivors, she disappeared. ![]() While I have not actually read Once a King yet, I really like the idea of a trilogy that’s actually a duology with a spin-off. Addie, the rich blond daughter of a mysterious businessman, was on the dinghy he pulled himself into. I thought the changes made were much-needed and really elevated the series. I thought some of the plot twists were predictable but, I liked the story so much more. However, despite my lukewarm feelings for Ever the Hunted, I read Ever the Brave on the same day. As the reader, I knew the full story and found their fighting and lying to be quite tiresome. I found that quite irritating since the story is told in alternating POV. The main characters often acted irrationally and tried to lie to each other to “protect” the other. I definitely had problems with the first book. I had nothing against it, but for some reason, I bought it, and never actually read it. Alan Jacobson follows up his exciting best-selling False Accusations with the chilling thriller, The Hunted, a novel that keeps readers attention all. But, after fully diving into bookstagram, I was convinced to finally pick it up. I have not finished all of the below yet.Įver the Hunted was one of those books that sat on my shelf (and TBR list) for a while before I actually picked it up to read it. But now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, let’s talk about trilogies. If I read the last book, there’s nothing else to read. The reasons vary but it’s usually because I don’t want the story to end. I have a serious issue with not finishing trilogies. I have a confession, before we really dive in.
